Come Fly With Me! Top 5 Life Tips for Traverlers

Come fly with me... Flying is something I'm rubbish at, I never seem to know what to pack or what important things I need to take with me.  I have travelled a lot to some beautiful countries like Egypt and Turkey and I have come across some tips for travellers that might be useful to all the explores out there.

I pack WAY too much.  When I say too much I don't mean like one or two things, I go all out and pretty much take my whole wardrobe with me.  I've come to realise that half the stuff I take I don't wear or use.  When it comes to packing I am very last minute (when I probably should be organised and prepared) Lets get on to Tip No 1...

# No 1

When packing try and think ahead and pack at least a week before you travel.  This will mean you have more time to pack and probably won't forget anything.  I ALWAYS forget something.  Packing ahead of time means you don't have to rush around and worry about having what you need.  I'm that typical late packer who will always need a shirt or skirt that's in the wash!  Thinking ahead will help when you need certain clothes that you want to take, no last minute quick washes and creased shirts.

Sometimes I panic on the day.  Making a checklist of what you need to take is probably the most useful tip I can give you.  So how to make a great kick ass checklist, Tip No 2...

# No 2

Check lists are pretty easy to create but there not something to be rushed.  Making a goo checklist is vital when traveling.  It helps you plan what you need to take with you and makes sure you don't forget anything, getting to the airport without your Passport would be a DISASTER.  To create a kick ass checklist make sure you write down everything you need and use it.  Things like your passport, travel documents and boarding passes and holiday insurances are pretty important so make sure there on the list.  Remember to always have another form of ID just they know who you are.  Tick of what you have collected together and put them in your bag as soon as you do.  No forgetting things on your next flight.

Beauty products and make up are essentials for all girls.  So having a make up case full of the products you LOVE is probably one of the most important things for a girl besides have the correct travel documentation of course!  Tip 3..

# No 3

Take a beauty case full of mini sized products perfect for travelling.  I did a whole post on travel sized make up products - You can read it here http://www.celebricious.com/2016/10/best-makeup-kits/ I find that Benefits and MAC have some great make up kits but I am sure there are many high street beauty brands that are just as good.  Want me to do a post on this?  Let me know in the comments below.

If your like me then you'll understand this next tip and hopefully find it useful.  Calling all fashionistas!! Tip 4....

Do you find yourself running out of space in your suitcase?  Do you feel the need to purchase a new suitcase?  This ones for all those who answered YES, just like me.  I know that I over pack and I'm terrible for it but you just gotta have all the cute dresses right?  Instead of ramming your case full and dreading check in try and pack carefully and lightly.  The best thing to do is check where you are going first, is it a hot country or a cold country?  Once you've established what the weathers like, it's time to pack.  Pack what you KNOW you will wear and not what you THINK you will wear.  pack one pair of sandal that are universal, a pair you can wear with almost anything like black or brown.  Take one pair of party shoes and one pair of casual trainers.  NOW for the greatest help of all,  roll your clothes up in to a roll like shape.  Example:  lay a pair of jeans/skirt/shorts on the floor and put a matching t-shirt with it, then pop any accessories that go on top.  Roll it all up and BOOM.  Do this with all your outfits and there will be lots of space for the rest of your things.

And finally..... a more serious tip... Tip No 5 coming at you now.

# No 5

Know what you can and cannot take.  I learnt to research into what you can take into a country when planning one of my next trips to Australia.  Some countries can be very strict and there will be a lot of things that you cannot take.  Make sure to look up what you are allowed to avoid any embarrassing problems at Customs!!

So there we have it.  5 tips on traveling that we all should know.  Remember that traveling doesn't need to be stressful and it shouldn't be.  Once all the boring adult stuff is out of the way your ready to have a fun packed a fun packed adventurous holiday in the sun relaxing by the beach (looking at cute guys).  Happy travels...

PS.  I was sat reading this with a hot chocolate, what was you all doing?? Let me know in the comments.  If you have any fun Christmas themed posts you'd like to see let me know!!

Calling All Students – Money Saving Tips!

Finding your way in the world is tough especially when it’s time to move away from home.  For most students it’s exciting but for others it’s a worry.  Not only are you moving in with people you don’t know but you’re moving away from family, people you have lived with forever.  It’s a big step.  The biggest stress of all is how you’re going to pay for it, that’s certainly on my mind.

University is supposed to be a fun time a time when you spread your wings and grow up.  But growing up brings the responsibilities of paying bills and having your own place to look after.  I’m here with 5 money saving tips for all you Uni Survivors!

Tip No 1:

When it comes to paying bills I know that gas and electricity can be very expensive especially now that the colder months are coming, everyone’s going to want to turn up the heating.  So to tackle the colder weather why not throw on a jumper or grab a blanket.  This will save you money on your heating bill and is probably more snug.

If you’re a new student and haven’t paid for your own gas and electricity before then Money Supermarket might be right for you.  There are hundreds of offers on their website that will help you.  They usually have some great deals if you’re new to their company.  Take a look and see what you could save.

Tip No 2:

Broadband charges can be one of the most expensive bills you have to pay.  Not anymore.  As the world of technology changes its becoming easier and cheaper to get on the net.  Vodaphone have brought out a new kind of internet box where you don’t need to pay for a phone line as well. BONUS!  If you’re a student who doesn’t need a sky box or a phone line then opting for this kind of internet service is probably the best option.  Keep a look out for great deals.

Tip No 3:

One thing that is a big issue at the moment is Council Tax, it’s not cheap and can see you massively out of pocket.  Councils rarely advertise that students get a reduced Council Tax or even sometimes it’s FREE yes FREE!!  If you’re a student and you live with other students then your Council Tax could be dramatically reduced or even FREE.

So that’s more money in your pocket for those days where you need it most.

Tip No 4:

Most Students in the UK opt for a Maintenance Loan meaning they get a certain about of money from Student Finance England. Instead of blowing all this at once why not open an ISA with your bank and earn some interest on the money you get.  If you have a student bank account then there are some great deals out there on savings accounts.  The money you save could be part of what you pay back.  Let’s face it we all like to spend money but saving it is probably best in the long run.

Tip No 5:

Earn cash back on the things you buy, I recently found this out when I was on my banks website.  Most banks have jumped onto this recently including Barclays and Lloyds.  You can earn cash back on everyday items that you buy, free money great.  Check out the Lloyds site and Barclays for more information.

I know saving is hard not just when you’re a student but for everyone.  Hopefully these tips will help you out and help you survive uni.

How To: Relax & Unwind

“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgement will be surer” – Leonardo Da Vinci.

I've come to believe that sleep is a very important part of people’s lifestyle.  If you’re like me and when you don’t get enough sleep you turn into a grumpy old monster then you’ve come to the right place for some tips and tricks.  Although sleep is very important I find that winding down and relaxing really helps too.  Over the years I have found my winding down tips and tricks and I wanted to share them with you.   Giving yourself some you time is extremely important.  Trying to wind down and relax whilst watching a scary film isn’t the most relaxing way to do it.  It’s important to take some time out of your day at least once a week to pamper yourself and concentrate on yourself.  Here’s some tips and tricks!  ENJOY....

Home Pamper Parlour?  YES PLEASE
Facemask anyone?  Something I like to do when trying to relax is a good old facemask.  Probably not for everyone but a MUST for me.  I find facemask SO relaxing and they leave your skin feeling as soft as a babies bum! (WAIT did I just say that!)  LUSH do some fantastic facemasks so get out there and give em a try.

Switch Off
Switching off is easier said than done.  I don’t know about you but I find myself laid on my bed scrolling through work emails or binge watching box sets for hours or even the odd 2, 3 or maybe 4 episodes of CHEERS! Yep got to LOVE that programme.  To completely switch off put away that laptop or phone half an hour before bed.  This will help you calm down and just relax...

Did Someone Say Bubble Bath?
Bubble baths are by far my favourite.  Bubble Baths fix everything and help you forget about the stress and worrying lingering around from the stressful day you’ve just had.  Unwind with a girly gossip mag and a cuppa hot choc in the tub with all the bubbles in the world.

Chocolate! Hot Choc, C’mon!
Lying on the couch with a Hot Choc and a magazine is a great way to chill.  Get up on that celeb gossip and crosswords and forget EVERYTHING! (Well not everything) A Hot Choc with cream and marshmallows is a must when trying to have some you time.  What’s your relaxing drink?

Read...
Thinking about this one made me think about Harry Potter, probably my favourite set of books ever.  I’m currently re-reading the whole collection.  For me reading is downtime.  I pull myself away from the laptop and phone to read.  I ADORE reading it’s something I’ve always loved.  Stephen King is my favourite author! IT, YES I could read that all day every day.  Bring out your inner Matilda and read them books girl.

SO there you have it some tips and tricks on How To: Relax & Unwind.  Thank me later.  What do you do to relax and unwind.  Let me know in the comments below.
